Timber mats, construction mats, railroad ties, shipping pallet, bridge timbers are just a few industrial products that utilize hardwood logs. The durability, density and physical characteristics of hardwoods make them the superior choice for these products.

Red oak for example, this species is known for its beautiful grain and is a great choice for furniture making. The same characteristics that make it ideal for furniture also make it perfect for industrial applications. Red oak has one of the best strength to weight ratios and it is tough. It holds up well to abrasion and heavy truck traffic. Crane mats and construction mats made from red oak can be used multiple times. Its strength allows it to be pulled up when the job is done and moved onto the next.

Hardwoods are abundant in the forests of Virginia and do not require site preparation for their regeneration after a timber harvest. Hardwoods grow fast in their early years, which means they pull in tons of carbon from the atmosphere. These products use renewable natural material and support local communities.
